Before my sessions with Kavita I thought I had put my health as a priority but my actions clearly didn’t show it. I spent over a year feeling overwhelmed and fretting about perimenopause. I had tried diets, fads, exercise, 10,000 steps. I would start something and then forget about it when life got in the way. Kavita helped me get clarity on how to create habits that stick and take time for myself. With her help, I changed my mindset which impacted not just my health but also my work and social life. I started from a place of worry but each week there were actions I could take – like movement, adding protein, journaling - and each week the burden felt lighter. I’ve learnt how to build habits a bit at a time. Taking care of my health used to be at the bottom of my list but now I start each day with my own wellness ritual. I wasn't sure what I was signing up for as this was my first time working with a health coach. I did have some concerns to address regarding my lifestyle and the biggest being guilt tripping myself having sugar and carbs as I knew that wasn't getting me anywhere. Before coaching I was drowning in stress with work and on the personal front and I didn't take the time to sit and prioritise. Kavita not only asked the right questions that helped me to reflect and achieve ah-ha moments but she also helped to ground my thoughts by taking it one step at a time. Talking to her was easy and calming. My personality might be bordering alongside ADHD as sometimes I'm unable to compartmentalize my thoughts but Kavita helped me to structure them which I am grateful for. Now I am able to be conscious about how I consume sugar and carbs and I'm also able to keep up with my spiritual journey better than before. Grounding myself and asking myself the right questions when I am unable to achieve something is my biggest takeaway from Kavita's sessions. I don't beat myself over something that I'm unable to achieve that much now. Before, it used to be a toxic cycle of procrastination and never being able to get on top of it. Now, I am able to address it and keep it within an achievable timeline. Kavita has a calm aura and it helped to ground my thoughts. I would highly recommend coaching sessions with Kavita to someone who needs to ground their thoughts and put their priorities in check. She asks the right questions and she’s gifted in getting someone to come up with their own solutions rather than you providing it. Prior to coaching I was so tired! Sleep was a key issue and having a huge impact on mood, motivation and energy each day. I felt I had too much to manage and functioned at high levels of urgency contributing to stress induced heart palpitations and migraines. I was looking for a healthy, sustainable health plan or guidance. While I enjoyed exercise I struggled to fit it in around work, feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. Organisation and home routine was something I wanted to address to find a more manageable, practical approach. I also wanted to look after myself nutritionally, to feel good, feel like I’m doing something nice to care for myself, look after my body inside out. Working with Kavita, I learned to break tasks down and utilise my time better. This opened up opportunities to bring back things I love, like listening to music/podcasts, which had a huge impact on my mood. I greatly underestimated missing me-time and joy. I also became more organised with my week. This brought down the overwhelm on deciding what to do first and when on a daily basis which used to make me indecisive and unproductive. Tools like the urgent/important chart really helped I also realised that small joys are really a big deal. Taking time to put an outfit together, have a hot drink alone, try a new recipe, listen to a podcast and do things that feel like they are for me are awesome mood lifter, cup filler and absolutely worth doing to add in to the day or reset the day for the better when needed. Kavita is really easy to talk to- relaxed yet supportive and motivating. She offered a balance of practical suggestions, and techniques to encourage thinking more about the next steps myself (even when at times I would have preferred an answer :) I understand why this has to come from the person themselves, linked to their own motivation, otherwise it could just be another 'task') The check in's spread out over the weeks helped with accountability and overall complimenting the idea that it's small changes/check in's over time, not overnight change/not a crash course or a quick fix. I would absolutely recommend sessions with Kavita. Its so individualised - tailor made for you, at your pace, for your situation and goals. Just thank you!
