With a career spanning over 20 years (including 16 years of counselling experience in Singapore), Sanaa’s experience in the political arena overseeing social projects, combined with her work with various NGOs, has given her a unique perspective on the challenges facing vulnerable communities, especially women and children.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in International Law from Hassan II University, Casablanca (Morocco), a Master’s degree in Political Science from Liege University (Belgium), and a Master's degree in Social Science (Professional Counselling) from Swinburne University of Technology (Australia).
Being from a multicultural household, Sanaa's approach to therapy is rooted in multiculturalism, drawing on her diverse background and experiences. Her exposure to different cultures and worldviews from working with expatriate families in private practice and international school settings has enriched her understanding of the complexities of human experiences and informed her practice with a deep respect for diversity and inclusivity.
Whether addressing issues related to trauma, relationships, self-esteem, or personal growth, Sanaa creates a safe and non-judgmental space where individuals can freely voice their concerns. She is trained in various therapies including CBT, TA, Schema, DBT, Gottman, Re-decision therapy, and SFBT to name a few; and uses an eclectic approach blending therapies with elements of NLP life coaching.
Sanaa is also a Collaborative Family Practitioner and a Mediator appointed on the panel of the Singapore Mediation Centre, where she works closely with collaborative lawyers to help divorcing couples navigate the process of divorce in a smooth manner, paying close attention to their children's best interests. As a Mediator, Sanaa blends elements of counseling with mediation techniques to ease the emotional discussions that arise during the mediation process, providing a supportive environment for divorcing couples to resolve their conflicts.
She is currently a volunteer at Angel Hearts organisation where she is the lead facilitator of the Grief Support Group for mothers who experienced the loss of pregnancy at various stages.
