Riding through multiple life transitions as a 3rd culture person, mother of an emerging adult, and an expat spouse with a versatile career path across countries, I appreciate how complex and layered life can be. My experiences have taught me to value self-awareness, nourishing relationships, and second chances.
As a Psychotherapist, I bring both lived insight and technical expertise to my work. My approach is integrative and leverages evidence-based therapies incl CBT, EMDR, The Gottman Method, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Chairwork, and more.
I offer sessions in English and Hindi, both online and in person.

With over two decades of corporate work across FMCG, Consulting, Banking, I understand the pressures of high-performance environments, team dynamics and the quiet toll of constantly “keeping it together” while juggling multiple priorities and roles. A key reason for my own career pivot to therapy is to hold space for clients navigating anxiety, burnout, perfectionism… or a dissonance between external definitions of success and inner fulfilment.
It is only when we feel safe enough inside that we are able to trust the world outside. Our experiences shape our core beliefs, and it is through this filter that we view the world, our place in it and our relationships. Unhelpful or outdated beliefs that are no longer useful need to be retired. I use my training in Trauma Recovery to support clients to decode their triggers and re-write the rules of their life.
Life doesn’t always go as planned. But just like the ancient Japanese art of kintsugi repairs broken pottery with gold, therapy can help reframe perspectives, find strength, beauty and life lessons in what might feel like chaos, failures or imperfections. I partner my individual and couple clients as they navigate fresh starts in life, even when things feel messy. One step at a time.

I've been with Ruchira Raj for nearly 7 months now and have had a lovely experience with her so far.
