Gender Identity Questioning Counselling supports individuals unsure of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Particularly over the pandemic, this community has become more impacted. During isolation, individuals had more free time, allowing self-reflection and on their past relationships facilitating identity exploration (Klein, 2022a). Many people are unsure about their gender identity; however, one should never feel alone in this journey. This may be reflected by the fact that almost 20% of adults do not identify as cis-gendered heterosexuals (Moreau, 2021).
When navigating identity questioning, you may feel confused and not good enough (American Psychiatric Association, 2019). During this time, relationships between family and friends may become more challenging, causing you to feel isolated and rejected. However, these feelings will not last. With Gender Identity Questioning Counselling, our therapists provide a non-judgmental environment to listen to your experiences. Our trusted counsellors will also help you learn novel coping mechanisms that will empower you to be proud of yourself.
Issues Faced By The Gender Identity Questioning Community
